The calculator result page contains several elements:
- Multi-Result Analysis: This is a load ladder that provides a preview of the key ballistics performance indicators for loads with a slightly lower or higher powder charge. The load steps can be set in Settings.
- Performance Chart: The chart shows the bullet velocity and chamber pressure over time until the bullet leaves the muzzle. The chart has a yellow and red area. The red area indicates pressure above the maximum allowed pressure for this caliber. The yellow range is between 90-100% of the allowed pressure. Hover with the mouse over the chart to get more details.
- Safety Warnings: The system provides warnings for the most common causes, such as overpressure, low fill rates, and low powder burn.
- Ballistic Results: Muzzle Velocity, Maximum Pressure, Muzzle Pressure, Burnt Propellant, Muzzle Energy, Energy Efficiency, Barrel Time (BT)
- Case & Volume Analysis: Seating Depth, Shank Seating Depth, Case Volume, Volume Occupied by Bullet, Volume Occupied by Powder
- Bullet Travel: Travel Distance
IMPORTANT: We recommend always staying approximatly 10% below the maximum allowed pressure. There are many reasons that can cause deviations between real results and our simulated results: different primers, variations in seating depth, bullet length, and case capacity, and temperature variations. Watch closely for signs of overpressure when you load close to the red area or even above.
